YOGA CHITTA VRITTI NIRODHAHA

Though there are variations on how this statement is translated from the Sanskrit, one common interpretation is "yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind." In other words, Yoga is done in order to achieve a stillness and clarity of mind

In Sanskrit, yoga means ‘to unite’ and the study of Yoga describes a way to live a healthy life. In yoga, the mind is disciplined through meditation and the body is aligned and strengthened through the Asanas.

Yoga is an independent philosophy with its own distinct concepts and principles. It has a definite way of practice, both physical and mental-yet complementing each other. As per yoga, it is actually the nervous system of the body that affects our health. The nervous system gets purified with daily practice of yoga and thus keeps our body healthy and strong.

The Sanskrit word "Vinyasa" refers to a transition between two different positions

At Art of Vinyasa, we teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga which combines an ancient series of postures with a flowing breath and movement system. This combination increases strength, endurance and flexibility whileclearing the body of accumulated toxins and emotional blocks.

Ashtanga Vinyasa system is particularly powerful in creating accelerated flexibility, stamina and strength and leading the practitioner to a greater sense of wellbeing.
